Some of our projects (and the technologies developed) may be the subject of restrictions under Canadian Law and, in some cases, US Law. The CRIAQ Agreement stipulates that the industrial partners must inform the universities of such restrictions. We have created a process to deal with Controlled Goods issues that respects the mission and operating principles of the NSERC. A letter describing this process was sent to all our Members in August.
The Industrial Innovation Scholarships (IIS) is a joint program between the NSERC (Federal government) and the FQRNT (Provincial government) with the objective of pursuing the education of Masters and PhD students in the industrial environment. This program allows companies to obtain the services of a masters student doing research for his or her thesis in their facilities on a technology project of importance to the company, paying only $7,000 per year, or for a PhD student, $9,000 per year. CRIAQ is associated with this program and has reserved several of the scholarships for its SME members. If you would like to know how to take advantage of this program, please follow this link to the NSERC web site or call Carlos Trindade, Special Projects Director.

We are happy to welcome Nathalie back from her maternity leave. She will resume her functions as technical advisor to CRIAQ.
