Seven new members admitted, John Saabas appointed Chair of the Board, new Executive Committee, Hany Moustapha and André Bazergui honoured

The Annual General Assembly and Board Meeting of CRIAQ were held on 30 August 2006 at Pratt & Whitney Canada in Longueuil (Québec).  John Saabas was confirmed officially as the new Chair of the Board taking over from John Holding who acted as Chair since the creation of CRIAQ in 2002.  The new Executive Committee members were also confirmed (see photo).

 

Seven new members of CRIAQ were also welcomed:

  • Rolls-Royce Canada, represented by Tomas Scarinci, V-P Engineering

  • L-3COM, represented by Michel Potvin, V-P operations

  • LxSix Photonics, represented by Peter Ficocelli, director Marketing and Business Development

  • Globvision, represented by Armineh Garabedian, President

  • Sologlobe, represented by Louis Veuilleux, President

  • Technologie Harness Scanner, represented by Alain Lussier, President

  • L'Université du Québec à Montréal (UQÀM), represented by Michel Jébrak, Vice-Rector Research and Creation

During that occasion a special recognition was made to Hany Moustapha and André Bazergui.

Special recognition to André Bazergui

In the presence of the new chair of the Board, John Saabas, André Bazergui receives a commemorative plaque from John Holding, outgoing Chair, in recognition for his outstanding performance as President and CEO of CRIAQ.  

André Bazergui thanks the assembly for this very touching testimony.

 

Hany Moustapha elected Honorary Member of CRIAQ

By unanimous vote of the Board, Hany Moustapha, outgoing Vice-Chair, is elected Honorary Member of CRIAQ in recognition of his vision and outstanding contribution to the founding of CRIAQ.  He receives from John Holding a certificate of merit while John Saabas and André Bazergui look on. He also receives a special gift, an original pottery by artist Noureddine Djoudja.

The Executive Committee has also appointed Hany Moustapha Chair of the CRIAQ Research Committee.
