On April
22, 2008, a reception held in the presence of about 100
guests, marked two important events: 1) We celebrated the
fifth anniversary of Turbomeca Canada (TMC) and inaugurated
the 1 500 sq.m extension of the Mirabel plant, bringing its
total area to 5 500 sq.m. 2) Hélène Séguinotte, TMC's
CEO, received the Medal of "Chevalier de l'Ordre du Mérite
de France" from the hands of French Ambassador to Canada, Mr
Daniel Jouanneau, on behalf of the President of France.
The Mirabel site has enjoyed constant growth over its first
five years. Since inaugurating the facilities with a team of
18 staff in 2003, the workforce has spiraled to 123
employees. In five years, Turbomeca Canada has repaired more
than 700 engines and 1,000 fuel flow control units.
The Turbomeca Canada team chiefly specializes in repair and
overhaul operations on Arriel 1 and Arriel 2 engines and
accessories for its customers in North America. The
TurboSupport Center is dedicated to supporting Arriel and
Arrius engines.
The new extension will equip TMC with a supplementary space
for the worldwide tooling management and to support more
efficiency the operators, as well as TurboSupport Centers
and repair centers from Mirabel.
CRIAQ is pleased to count Turbomeca
Canada as one of its members. TMC is poised to launch
an R&D project as part of the 4th round of CRIAQ Research
activities.
Congratulations to Hélène Séguinotte
for the well deserved recognition she has received as a
result of her remarkable work.
