THANKS TO ALL !!!!!!!

Almost 400 participants from Industry, Universities, Research Centers, and other organizations took part at the 5th CRIAQ Research Forum in Montreal. Industry representatives presented some 48 projects at a plenary session in the morning.  Researchers and industrialists then gathered in one of the nine thematic workshops to further discuss projects, identify project leaders and form the research teams. The executive summaries will be prepared by the project leaders and presented at the coming CRIAQ Research Committee, next June 3, to begin the evaluation process. They participated in the development of the fifth round of Research projects. This 5th edition has proved to be a great success, with an exceptional turnout, nearly double that of the previous edition held in 2008.  We thank you all for your participation. 

 

 

The 400 participants at the Hyatt Regency.  We started the Forum at 8h30 a.m. by the presentations of the OMEs  in aerospace.  The 5th  Forum of CRIAQ was a big success as you can see by the statistics shown on the below diagram.

OPENING CEREMONY

Guy Lambert, president of the Executive Committee and Chairman of the Board of Directors of CRIAQ was master of the opening ceremony of the5th Forum.
 

It was an honour to welcome Mrs. Geneviève Tanguay, ''Sous-ministre du MDEIE'' who had participated to the Forum's Opening Ceremony.
 

Dr. André Bazergui, PDG of CRIAQ, made the closing address of the Opening Ceremony.  The presentations of the projects by the Industries followed this speech.

Following the workgroups, the leaders of each group had presented the projects which would be submitted for approbation.  Those projects will be analysed by the CRIAQ team following the reception of all the documents.

TRIBUTE
   

All the members of CRIAQ and the team who has the honour and privilege to work with André wanted to place emphasis on his decision to retire by organizing a special event.  Keeping this big event secret and confidential was not a simple task and we would like to thank you all  for your diligence to keep this tribute secret until the end of the Forum.  It was a real surprise for André.  We would like to thank Mr. Normand Huberdeau who had taken all the photos of this memorable moment and to give us the authorization to publicize those photos.  It was not an easy task to replace Andre as official photograph of this event.  Below, you will find the pictures of this tribute.

We would like to thank Mr. Lambert for his help to the CRIAQ team for the organisation of this event.  It was very well appreciated.

Mr. Jean Nicolas,  founder member of the CRIAQ, paid an emotional tribute to André.  Like you can see (and we think it was the first time) André was speechless.
   
Prof. . Martin Lévesque was a student of André and brought back some moments and anecdotes when André was teaching at École Polytechnique Christophe Guy, Chief Executive Officer of École Polytechnique and Vice-President of CRIAQ
   

André did receive the Olympic Flame as a retirement gift from Bombardier. The Executive Committee of CRIAQ with André.  We recognize  Claude Bédard (ETS), Christophe Pierre (McGill), Simon Durham (MDS-PRAD Technologies), Pierre Rioux (Bell Helicopter Textron Canada), Christophe Guy (École Polytechnique), Walter Di Bartolomeo (Pratt & Whitney Canada), Guy Lambert (Bombardier) and Philippe Molaret (Groupe Thales)
   

Two special guests were invited to this event. Mr. Raymond Bachand, ministre des Finances, and Mr. Clément Gignac, ministre du Développement économique, innovation et exportation.  We can certify that André did not know about those two special invitations and he was very impressed by their presence and speeches.

We would like to thank Mr. Bachand and Mr. Gignac to have found some times at their agenda to be present at this tribute to André.
