ISABE 2011 - 20th ISABE Conference under the themeEnabling Technologies for Economy, Profitability and Environmental Compatibility in Airbreathing Propulsion” took place at Göteborg, Sweden.

In order to develop its environmental program, CRIAQ organized, in a joint effort with GARDN, Green Aviation Research & Development Network, a workshop to develop green aviation projects with focus on airport operations, aircraft systems, materials and manufacturing processes, aircraft optimization as well as ecodesign.

The Steering Group of the Canada-EU Coordinated Support Action (CANNAPE) held the first workshop on Canada-EU aerospace R&D collaboration on June 23, 2011 in Paris, France.

During the 49th International Paris Air Show - Le Bourget from June 20 to 26, the Minister of Economic Development, Innovation and Export Trade, Clément Gignac, announced the renewal of the three-year financial support for CRIAQ. The total financial support adds up to $11.42 M, $8.42 M from the Québec Research and Innovation Strategy (SQRI) and $3 M from Fonds vert.

CRIAQ attended the first edition of the Canada-EU Innovation Forum. This event has been focusing on co-operation between Canada and the European Union in the domains of research and innovation.

GARDN, Green Aviation Research and Development Network, held its first Annual Conference under the theme: Fly green – Making our dreams a reality. The event took place at the Canada Aviation and Space Museum on February 23, 2011 which is also Canada’s National Aviation Day.

AV&R Vision & Robotics has been awarded contracts worth more than 1.5 million dollars from two major European players in the jet engine industry. Specialized in gas turbine manufacturing solutions in the fields of robotic material removal and automated surface inspection, AV&R will install systems in Germany and England.
