Description du projet/ Project Description
This project aims at developing a new avionics communication network allowing a reduction of the complexity of cabling by adopting a smaller wire-count solution, using the state-of-the-art avionics data network technologies. Digital interfaces will be developed to connect the legacy position sensors and actuators to data buses. Emerging MEMS and photonic technologies will be employed to develop new lightweight, contactless, and highly reliable position sensors in order to provide an enhanced performance while reducing the cost of deployment and maintenance. Issues related to frequency selection and electromagnetic compatibility and interference will also be addressed for forecasting the further development of wireless avionics communication systems.

Objectifs/ Objectives
1) Build a universal reliable interface being flexible and configurable to fit-in with various position sensor technologies. Develop new position sensors based on MEMS and photonic technologies.
2) Develop a less-wire avionics data communication network based on a multi-protocol/multi-rate architecture, which would allow the reduction of the complexity of cabling and achieve a 100Mbps overall throughput.
3) Address issues related to the guidance for frequency selection for wireless communication networks in avionics applications and property of EMC and EME.
