Description du projet/ Project Description
The present work aims at finding all possible methods by which the reliability of high density power electronics converters can be achieved. New techniques of magnetic field orientation will be developed and applied to matrix converters topology for high density packaging power electronics.

Objectifs/ Objectives
1) Development of accurate electromagnetic models which permit the simulation of magnetic field in layout matrix converter topology in order to integrate low level power electronics.
2) Development of robust control of matrix converter taking into account device commutation to reduce loss while operating at high frequency and high reliability
3) Failure analysis of matrix converter topology and development of remedial control strategy in failure mode operation
4) Development of high density prototype based on Mosfet devices, which integrate the newly high efficient matrix converter topology with its controllers
5) Test (magnetic, thermal, failure) and evaluation of the prototype
6) Interested manufacturers for commercializing the technology
