Description du projet/ Project
Description
Productivity is hampered by frequent
program interruptions for operator
sizing cuts and other process
verifications. The project aims to
replace such operations by on-machine
gauging and automated program changes to
achieve un-broken program runs
Objectifs/ Objectives
- Provide routine
operator-intervention-free machining
operations within each part setup by
removing manual gauging operations;
- Achieve on machine-gauging accuracy to
+/-0.0001” for selected key
manufacturing characteristics;
- New proposed methods need to be faster
than the current process intervention
- Demonstrate effectiveness of
on-machine compensation strategy for
automated programme parameters
adjustments:
a) Tool wear compensation
methods for sizing cuts
b) Verification of the blending
profile by in-machine measurement system
on critical profiles.
c) Provide compensation methods
for time-based changes in machine
volumetric accuracy.
