Description du projet/ Project
Description
The proposed project is aimed at
developing a new software to
automatically optimize multi-axis CNC
milling parameters and integrating this
software with CATIA V5. This software
can be directly used in Bombardier, ICAM
and other companies to benefit the
Canadian manufacturing industry.
Objectifs/ Objectives
The main objectives of this research
are:
• Implement effective, accurate
approaches to calculating
cutter/workpiece engagement and apply a
new in-process workpiece model,
• Establish an original model of
instantaneous material removal rate and
render an advanced algorithm to optimize
the machining parameters,
• Build parametric cutting tool and a
CNC machine libraries on CATIA V5,
• Develop new software by implementing
the innovative methods and integrate
this software with CATIA using CAA in
order to automatically convert
Bombardier's manufacturing files from
CATIA V4 to V5 and optimize machining
parameters for high productivity and
high part quality.
