Description du projet/ Project
Description
Study the use of Direct Laser Deposition
in the fabrication of complex small
volume and/or prototype parts in
aeronautical alloys.
Objectifs/ Objectives
1) Find operating conditions that
globally optimize the process in order
to:
1a) maximize laser deposition rate
1b) minimize sub-surface flaws
1c) maximize part quality
2) Determine the laser direct deposition
mechanism for various materials.
3) Develop a predictive transient,
three-dimensional thermo-diffusion model
for laser deposition.
4) Understand the underlying physics of
laser deposition.
5) Develop in-process monitoring and
control schemes for the laser deposition
process.
