A look back at CRIAQ’s Annual General Assembly 2024

CRIAQ’s Annual General Assembly (RDV AGA) was held on June 19th. Several interesting presentations and major announcements were made during this event.

First, we would like to highlight that this was Guillaume Côté’s first RDV AGA since assuming the role of President and CEO of CRIAQ. It was also the first assembly for Philippe Couillard, the newly appointed Chairman of the Board.

We proceeded to announce the winners of the CRIAQ Relève Féminine bursary and the CRIAQ Envol Start-up bursary. They will be revealed in a future article.

We had the opportunity to learn more about two new aerospace SMEs. Christian Lacroix, Boréal Conductors, and Félix Lapointe, Ferreol Technologies, presented their companies. They are recipients of the Envol Start-up bursary.

We also had a presentation by Denis Godin, Director of Programs and Deputy General Manager at INSAT, showcasing their sustainable aeronautics technology initiative, and Fassi Kafyeke, Senior Advisor, Research, Innovation and Collaboration at Bombardier Aviation, introduced us to the Zone d’Innovation Espace Aéro.

We cannot overlook the valued contribution of our outgoing Board Members: Françoys Labonté, Alain Beaulieu, Alain Chandonnet, and Walter Chan. We thank them for their contributions. These departures bring new members: Chantal Boucher, Kahina Oudjehani, Selwa Rafi, and Mouhab Meshreki, will replace them. We look forward to hearing their voices at future Board meetings.

Another key moment of this RDV AGA was the unveiling of the CRIAQ Success Stories. Guests were privileged to attend the exclusive screening of the first two videos. The first focused on the MANU-1719 project: Thermal spray coating for high-temperature static joints in aircraft engines. The second presents the LiBio project: Lightweight bionic aircraft interiors. We will be sharing these Success Stories with you over the coming weeks.

To end this day full of exciting news, we announced the 13th edition of our RDV Forum! It will be held on February 25-26, 2025, at the Grand Quay of the Port of Montreal. Under the theme “Generations of Ideas”, this unifying event is intended to be an aerospace hub where experts, innovators and decision-makers meet to exchange ideas, build strategic partnerships and shape the future of the industry.

We invite you to add these dates to your calendar and stay tuned for further program details. We look forward to seeing you there!
