Introduction
Whether you’re a large company (prime contractor/OEM), a midsized company or an SME, you can submit a pre-competitive research project for technologies targeting aerospace-related applications: Sustainable Aerospace, Air Mobility of the Future and Digital Aviation Systems.
The strengths of R&D and collaborative innovation
- Access and benefit from the collective intelligence of industrial and academic partners.
- Reduce risk and share R&D costs.
- Public funding of up to 80% of the project’s monetary value.
- Depending on the project, other partners such as the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), IRAP or MITACS may also co-fund the project.
- Benefit from the leverage generated by your financial contributions:
- Up to $5 for every $1 invested per project.
- Up to $20 for every $1 invested (on average) per company.
- Personalized support from day 1, from project idea to project completion.
The project objectives financed through the program
- Explore the potential of emerging technologies to generate new aerospace applications.
- Validate technological elements in the proposed research projects, supervised by the industry and led by researchers.
- Access to the expertise of the public research community at universities, College Centres for the Transfer of Technologies (CCTT) and public research centres.
- Enable the transfer of knowledge and technologies to the Quebec industry.
- Train students and develop skills of excellence for Quebec’s aerospace industry.
Other program features
- The maximum duration of research projects is 3 years (may vary according to the terms of the call for the project).
- Funding recipients are universities, College Centres for the Transfer of Technologies (CCTTs) and public research centres. Unsubsidized contributions may be eligible for tax credits, including the Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) tax credit, according to the program’s current criteria.
