CRIAQ’s mission in South Korea

From November 17 to 21, 2025, CRIAQ carried out a mission to South Korea alongside Concordia University, PROMPT, and the team from the Québec Delegation in Seoul (DQS). The mission was also supported by the Ministry of International Relations and La Francophonie (MRIF).

The mission aimed to advance the work plan established with our current Korean partners, KARI and KITECH, as well as to explore opportunities with other organizations that have a strong interest in collaborating with Québec. We held around ten meetings with institutions such as KAIST, Daejeon Technopark, CONTEC, Perigee, the National AI Research Lab, Konkuk University, and the Advanced Institute of Convergence and Technology (AICT). The goal of these collaborations is to build research, innovation, and business connections between the two territories, in a context that is increasingly conducive to market diversification.

CRIAQ was invited to take part in the K-UAM Confex 2025 conference, an event dedicated to advanced air mobility featuring a very rich program. Together with Concordia University, we were able to present, on the main stage, an overview of Québec’s aerospace research and innovation ecosystem. Guillaume Côté delivered two presentations, took part in an international panel, and was interviewed by an online media outlet.

The conference also provided an opportunity to discover various AAM projects taking place in Korea and abroad. In addition, Guillaume Côté and Etienne Leclerc-Jolette participated in the annual meeting of the Global Urban Regional Summit (GURS).

Finally, CRIAQ took advantage of this mission to promote the upcoming international call for projects, which opens next week. This program will be the preferred tool to launch the first collaborative R&D projects between Québec and Korea.

We would like to thank once again the Ministry of International Relations and La Francophonie (MRIF), as well as the team at the Québec Delegation in Seoul (DQS), for their support throughout this mission.
