Analysis of the prospective workshops of the 8th CRIAQ Research Forum

During the 8th CRIAQ Research Forum, held on April 27, 2016 in Montreal, five research foresight workshops were organized. The main purpose of these workshops was to identify promising research topics that could shape the aerospace industry in the next 5-10 years. More than 620 national and international participants (industry specialists, researchers, students, government officials, etc.) discussed the five proposed technology areas.

A significant amount of data was captured, while participants identified a total of more than 700 research subjects and more than 200 structuring activities. A CRIAQ team addressed these data and some of the more dominant research topics emerged for each of the workshops.

The exercise led by CRIAQ also highlighted more than a hundred structuring activities for research. These statements reinforce current trends in collaboration, intersectorality, knowledge transfer and more.
